Dear Ones,

September marks the half-way point of my year with you and I am full of gratitude for what I have experienced in this ministry.  I am grateful to the people who came to the 7am Sunday morning Devotions service - for the quiet reflections and deep silences we shared.  I am grateful to the people who came to the Living the Questions sessions all summer – for the deep inquiries and honest truths they offered to one another as we engaged in the great adventure of finding the God of our understanding.  I am grateful to be in the company of the many people who give their energies and talents to sustain our church life.  This requires so much of so many - people willing to devote time to understanding everything from  building plans and budgets to lesson plans and landscaping.  Keeping a church together requires a thousand decisions every week.  Taken separately these decisions can seem small, but put together they create the invisible glue that holds us together. I am grateful to Vance and Sue for their extraordinary talents and generous gifts of time to me and the others who serve.  It is a joy to be with you all, seeking God in God’s many manifestations, and sharing the wild wonders of this amazing, perplexing life we lead.

Many blessings,

Joan
