Pastor Carol Reynolds began her ministry at Hope in mid-September 2022. Prior to Hope, she served congregations in northwest Michigan, central Massachusetts, and the Phoenix area. She received her Master of Divinity degree from the Iliff School of Theology in Denver. While in seminary, Carol studied spiritual direction with Benedictine sisters and interned at both a mid-size church and a memory care unit. Before ministry, Carol spent nearly two decades in book publishing, holding positions in editorial and inventory management/warehouse operations in New York and Colorado. She earned her BA in English at Bethany College in West Virginia. In her free time, Carol likes to read, garden, cook, explore new places, spend time in nature and with her UCC pastor boyfriend John, and dote on her rescue cats Toby and Waldo and John’s dog, Sofie. She enjoys film and all kinds of music.
A Massachusetts native, her immediate family (sister and niece) now lives in Maine. Carol has a passion for congregations like Hope where “everyone knows your name,” and all are warmly welcomed. She feels especially called to reach out to those who have felt hurt by churches, to facilitate healing and the discovery of new ways to understand and follow Christ. A former Unitarian Universalist, she is inspired by many sources, from the bible to poetry, literature, and lyrics, to the wisdom of world and indigenous religions. Contact
