Do you know that Hope has a library? And that it is well stocked with books on a variety of subjects? The room is to the far right when you enter the front door, just off the narthex, and most shelves are marked by subject.
Our two newest subject shelves include one that is being developed by the Racial Justice Committee for Racial Diversity and another one for Banned Books*.
We welcome donations of books on these and other topics. Donations may be made by placing books into the marked basket on the shelf immediately to the right of the door as you enter the library.
Borrowing books is on the honor system - take a book you like, read it, and return it to the spot where you found it.
If you have questions, please ask Patsy Vollrath, Gale Whitson-Schmidt, or John Contratto
*For a list of banned books, explore the resources at pen.org. It provides a list of schoolbook bans by state, as well as a comprehensive list of the 4,231 unique titles. Wisconsin is the 4th highest state in the country for schoolbook bans!
