For the past 20 years Mary Hall has served as the Choir Director of Hope United Church of Christ. Mary grew up at Hope UCC and graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School. She attended Butler University where she earned her degree in Applied Voice and currently serves as Pupil Services Administrative Assistant (a.k.a. Special Education Dept. Secretary) for the Southern Door County School District.
Over the years Mary has managed to cultivate an impressive resume in the performing arts. Among her credits, she has served as Artistic & Musical Director for the Isadoora Theatre Company as well as Director/Mentor for L.E.A.P (Learning to Empower and Appreciate all People). She has also led the “Mass Choir” for Sturgeon Bay’s Thanksgiving Eve service and is currently in her fifth season as Artistic Director of the The Peninsula Singers.
During the Fall of 2023, Mary began her duties as the newly appointed Director of the Southern Door High School Musical. In addition to being a featured soloist (voice & flute) at Hope she enjoys performing around the county at other area churches, weddings, funerals, and private functions. Presently Mary plays piccolo in the Peninsula Symphonic Band, sings in the Company B Trio, and is a featured soloist with the Swingin’ Door Big Band.
Mary resides in Sturgeon Bay with her husband, two children, a big black dog, and an ancient but determined cat.
